Unwind, Reconnect & Discover the Beauty of West Wales
Welcome to The Enchanted Oak
Welcome to The Enchanted Oak! We’re Mike and Tracey, the proud owners of this wonderful retreat nestled within our smallholding in the beautiful countryside of West Wales. Since our arrival in 2022, we’ve put our hearts into reviving this once neglected land. We offer both camping and glamping options, allowing you to tailor your experience to your preferences. Pitch your tent in one of our 10 pitches or enjoy a touch of indulgence in our 4m bell tents, with cosy beds and all the amenities you need for a memorable stay.
Whichever your preference, we invite you to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Aeron Valley and the Ceredigion countryside. Our location is a short distance from the charming Georgian town of Aberaeron and the stunning West Wales Coast, giving you the best of both worlds. Our goal is to offer a peaceful sanctuary where individuals, couples, friends, and families can unwind, disconnect from their busy lives, and enjoy the comforts of home while surrounded by nature’s tranquillity.
Delivering a five-star hosting experience is our top priority. Since we live on-site, we’re always available and happy to assist our guests in any way we can. Whether it’s recommending local attractions and hidden gems, helping you plan your itinerary, or ensuring your stay is comfortable and unforgettable, we’re dedicated to going above and beyond to meet your needs. We’re excited to host you and share our passion for this magical corner of the country, where unforgettable memories are waiting to be made.
Embrace the Great Outdoors
Glamp in Style
Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Aeron Valley from the comfort of our luxurious 4m bell tents, perched at the top of a sprawling field. With ample space for two, our bell tents offer a haven of comfort and relaxation, fully pitched and thoughtfully equipped for a blissful stay under canvas. Should you be traveling with family, we happily accommodate one additional small tent alongside or provide up to two single camping beds/bedding within the bell tent. We’ve taken care of all the details, so all you need to do is book, arrive, and let the magic of Ceredigion unfold.
Escape to the Outdoors
If you prefer a more traditional camping experience, The Enchanted Oak offers up to 10 camping pitches. Our smaller pitches are ideal for bikers, hikers, walkers, and cyclists who wish to bring their own tents, with no minimum night stay.
Whether you’re embarking on a cycling tour, hiking expedition, or simply immersing yourself in nature’s beauty in picturesque West Wales, our camping pitches offer a cosy and comfortable base for your adventures.
Please note, we are unable to accommodate large (greater than four berth) family tents.
transport during your stay
We warmly welcome those who prefer alternative modes of travel. If you’re using public transport or exploring the area on two wheels, we’re conveniently located along a main bus route that connects to the train network in Aberystwyth. To make your journey even easier, we provide a collection service from the train station. If you’re embarking on the adventure of walking the West Wales coast path, we’re here to assist you with pickups, drop-offs, and luggage transportation along the way.
If you decide to bring your own vehicle, we recommend leaving it at our site when heading to the coast for the day, as parking can be challenging during the busy summer months. Instead, hop on a bus, rent one of our bicycles, or let us drop you off locally, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable outing.
As you plan your stay with us, don’t miss the opportunity to explore the local area and discover the hidden gems that await. From charming coastal towns to serene beaches and historic landmarks, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Aberaeron, a coastal town located just a short distance from us. Take a leisurely stroll along the quaint harbour, lined with colourful Georgian houses. Explore the quaint streets filled with independent shops, where you can find unique gifts and local crafts. And don’t forget to sample delicious local seafood at one of the town’s renowned seafood restaurants.
Nestled along the Ceredigion coastline, the hidden gem of Mwnt awaits your exploration, with breathtaking views of the rugged cliffs and pristine sandy beaches. Take a leisurely hike up the hill to the iconic Mwnt Church and enjoy panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside. If you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins or seals frolicking in the crystal-clear waters.
Venture to New Quay, a charming seaside town brimming with character, offering a range of activities for visitors of all ages. Embark on a boat trip and witness dolphins dancing in the bay or explore the picturesque harbour with its fishing boat in every colour of the rainbow. With its mix of sandy beaches, coastal walks, and bustling pubs and restaurants, New Quay is a must-visit destination during your stay.
Discover the cultural hub of Aberystwyth, a lively university town nearby. Boasting a rich history and a stunning waterfront promenade, Aberystwyth offers a wealth of attractions and activities. Explore the ancient ruins of Aberystwyth Castle, visit the National Library of Wales, or take a ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a scenic journey through the beautiful Welsh countryside.
We recently visited the Afon Mêl Honey Farm & Meadery, set in an old chapel on the rural outskirts of New Quay. The honey farm offered us a fascinating glimpse into the captivating world of beekeeping, with a unique exhibition that allows you to get up close with live honeybee colonies and see them at work.
